A virtual tour of our facility...
Large dog play area with TV corner.
Small dog play area, also with TV.
A few of Jason's charges over the years (including a medical procedure on an 16 foot ananconda and the world's smallest primate!):
Five weeks after Hurricane Katrina hit, Jill had the opportunity to participate in the massive animal rescue effort in New Orleans. She assisted other volunteers in a veterinary triage unit as rescuers brought in wounded, dehydrated, and severely emaciated animals for treatment. These are some of the lucky ones:
Some photos of Jill's experiences during her nine years training marine mammals:
Dogs being silly:
Who's the captain of this ship?!
Ball hog!!
Laying claim to personal territory!
Play dead.
Good dogs.
Dare me to cram myself in here?  I bet I can do it!
Halfway there...
This is kind of cramped. I'm bigger than I thought.
These are a few of our favorite things:
SWIMMING!!!
Tug-of-war.
And, of course, wrestlemania!!

Coming to daycare makes Hercules really happy!
Look mom, no hands! J.J. is a skilled tennis ball handler. You don't find talent like this everyday!
Scout and Charlie are really hoping someone is going to throw the ball soon.
For those of you who were wondering how many labs fit in a kiddie pool, Charlie, Scout, Tootsie and Tucker have shown that 4 is about the limit!
Hafiz says, "Come and get it Abby!"
Siblings Ellie and Roy stick together.
Bubbly sits pretty on the couch.
Like most Jack Russells, Bertie LOVES to play ball.
Talk about a motley crew! From left to right: Junebug, McJagger, Bailey, and Taz (giving everyone a raspberry).
Potter hates to leave daycare and protests on the lobby couch. But Mom, I don't want to go!!
Gizmo, on the other hand, has no problem leaving if it means she gets to ride on her daddy's motorcycle!
Outside shot of daycare building with play yard.
Outside shot of kennel building with exercise area.
A sampling of kennel runs of various sizes. There are 10 runs total in the kennel building, all of which are at least 25 square feet to provide a comfortable space for any size dog. The largest is approximately 100 square feet, allowing plenty of room for multi-dog families.
On Saturday, April 26th, 2008, a team of walkers from YWIP participated in the Asheville Humane Society's Walk for the Animals. Thanks to those who joined us for the event and to all of you who donated to such a great cause. With over $3100 in donations, we were the top fundraising team!! Everyone had a great time, especially the dogs, as you can see from the photos below.
Ready to go!! Above: Lizzie, Junebug, Gracie, and Potter.

Below: Sarah and BoBo, Ann and JR, Al and Sharon with Phoebe, Kathie and Bella.

Making new friends:
Gracie and her mom, Tonya, get to know little Petey.
Potter thinks Junebug's dad, Tom, is pretty cool and decides to lean up against him.
Maverick and Tonka share a pre-walk refreshment (it's important to stay hydrated).
Time to walk...get moving everyone!

Also time to clean up poop if your dog decides to go! (Jason is such a responsible dog owner!)

The Aftermath...
Tonka decided it should be the Carry for the Animals.
We couldn't pour the water fast enough for Potter!
Forget drinking it, Zipper decides to just take a dip right in the water bowl.
Ellie and Keena take the more conventional approach and go for a swim in the river.
Our training demonstration:
Zipper demonstrates her inventiveness by creating different behaviors in cardboard boxes.
Soubhi and her 12-year old dog, Kenya, prove that you can teach an old dog new tricks!
Now Emmy sings a beautiful aria (she is multi-talented).
Emmy and Holly are practicing for the next season of 'Dancing with the Stars'.
A day in the life of a daycare dog:
Weird, soapy, floaty things.
(Or digging in the pool, checking out the designs on the pool, or playing ball in the pool.)
This weird spinny thing that shoots water.
Highlights from our 4th Annual Howl-o-ween Party!!
As you can tell from the faces of Mr. Bear and Senator Pimp Daddy (a.k.a. Hercules), the party made everyone smile!!
The party has become so popular that it was attended by multiple celebrities this year:
Mickey and Minnie Mouse took a break from the daily Disney grind to make an appearance.
Superman gave Krypto the Superdog permission to attend and Barbara Eden took her I Dream of Jeannie wardrobe out of storage to come enjoy the fun.
Drum roll, please...here are the costume contest winners:
Tiger was dressed as the Cowardly Lion, which is an adorable concept, plus he looked unbelievable huggable so he won the prize for Cutest.
Singer came dressed as a banana, and since he plays non-stop when he is here for daycare and is a bit 'naners, he won for Funniest!
We had two very well done pirates that were cleverly accessorized, earning them both the title of Most Original. (I know, it seems contradictory to have 2 winners in this category!) JR on the left was sporting dred locks, a parrot perched on his hat, and an hysterical peg leg which somehow managed to stay on through the whole party! BoBo lost some of his accoutrements, including his hook hand that had speared a fish and the treasure chest of biscuits that the other dogs promptly went after! Despite those losses, he still sported an amazing pirate look.  Well done, mateys...arrghh!!
There were so many great costumes this year, thanks to all who participated and to the dogs for being such good sports!
Surf's up, dude.
Uh oh, did he just say Surf 'n' Turf?
Don't worry, ma'am, I'll keep you safe; no fires allowed on my watch.
MacIntosh shatters the myth that princesses have to be pretty.
But Bella proves that butterflies are always pretty.
Zipper and Lucy need a nap after all that heavy partying.
Meanwhile, Anna demonstrates that some dinosaurs can be happy and friendly.
Welcome to the pumpkin patch. Would you like small or large?
This stinks.
Could this bee more humiliating?
Suckers, I only had to wear a bandana!
Riley, maybe you should eat a large one, you're just skin and bones.
Despite being forced to wear silly costumes, the dogs seemed to forgive us for being such ridiculous humans:
Mabel shares a special moment with her mom.
Virginia can always be counted on to win the dogs' favor as she plays ball with Mr. Bear and gives Jersey a nice massage.
The proceeds raised from party admission fees and raffle tickets were donated to the Asheville Humane Society. Thank you for helping us raise $350!!! And a huge thanks to Drs. Donna Wilson and Andrea Fochios for donating veterinary services to the raffle and for all who attended and contributed by purchasing tickets!
HAPPY HOWL-O-WEEN!!
